Many employers use IQ tests to assess employees, but how well do IQ tests predict job performance? Unfortunately, not well. However, using intelligence quotients creatively can help you build a dynamic team if you look at all the quotients vs. IQ independently.
These include:
- Intelligence Quotient (IQ): The ability to recognize and solve problems.
- Emotional Quotient (EQ): Measures emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and emotional self-control.
- Adversity Quotient (AQ): The ability to face and overcome adverse situations.
- Social Quotient (SQ): Determines cultural fit and social awareness.
- Cognitive Quotient (CQ): How one utilizes their intelligence.
Employees demonstrate these quotients in their professional behavior, communication
styles, talents, and how they approach projects and problems. Knowing the strengths
of each team member allows you to identify the roles/responsibilities for which they are
best suited. From there, you can leverage the strengths of one team member to fill in gapsfrom another, making for a well-rounded,
dynamic team.
